I just came across this:

http://www.portmeiriononline.co.uk/department/the-portmeirion-village-collection/

They look quite nice! Does anyone have these, and can attest to the
quality? I'm considering getting a couple, most likely the green dome
and number 6's cottage.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim,

I have the Dome, #6's and the Campanile. My Dome has a green dome. I see
this new set has the charcoal one.

The quality is good -- but two of mine are from the original Age of
Elegance collection (the Dome and the Campanile) and these were more
expensive than the pieces in the current collection. There was a lot
more hands-on work.

My Round House (Number 6's House) is newer and it was made in China. I
think the Age of Elegance ones (which are heavier than the new ones)
were made in the UK.

Alas, they are all pretty fragile, so you have to be really careful.

But they are fun to have :-)

Thanks for the info.
Can you give me an idea of the size of them? Height of the Dome, or
dimensions of the base of the Round House one?

Thanks.

The widest part of the base of the Campanile is 4 inches, and it's 6
inches high. The Dome's base is about 5 inches and it's about 5 inches
high. The Round House is about 5-6 at the base and 3 inches high. But it
includes that arch with the white man silhouette and the stairs
underneath it. You'll like them.

The gold ball from the top of my Dome came off. As I noted, they are
fragile. And since they're plaster they're porous, so it's hard gluing
the bits back together!

There is good detail on them. And definitely fun to put out for
Christmas, or for your cats to sit among them.

The top of my Bell Tower broke......easily happens. Although I've glued it
OK and you can't tell.

I got the Roundhouse (Number 6's house) and the Bell Tower - with designs on
getting the green dome, too. They look a bit on the cheesy Lilliput Lane
side....i.e. your mam's fireplace kinda vibe, but there is kudos to be
garnered when someone spots what they are, and why you have them. Most of
the time I see people staring at them thinking they clash with the rest of
our [more tasteful] decor. The missus would like to hurt them while dusting,
I'm sure of it.....I keep her well away. I like them though. Quality isn't
anything like Portmeirion Pottery or anything, but they're well worth what
you pay.
